Saint-Gobain Completes in Malaysia, the Acquisition of Hume Cemboard Industries Sdn Bhd

Today, Saint-Gobain Malaysia Sdn Bhd is pleased to announce the successful completion of the acquisition, as initially disclosed on June 14th, 2023, of Hume Cemboard Industries Sdn Bhd (HCBI). HCBI with one manufacturing facility and more than 200 employees, is widely recognized as the leading manufacturer of light boards utilized in facades, partitions, and ceilings across Malaysia.

This strategic move signifies a pivotal step for Saint-Gobain in Malaysia in consolidating its position as leader in light and sustainable construction within the Malaysian market. Through this acquisition, Saint-Gobain reinforces its portfolio, in particular of plasterboard, to offer a comprehensive suite of solutions and services to better serve the local market.

This acquisition is in line with Saint-Gobain's strategic plan, "Grow & Impact" which aims to both strengthen the Group’s leadership and accelerate its growth by enriching its range of solutions for light and sustainable construction.
